Job description

Blue Cypress is an AI-native platform company building software and services for the association and nonprofit technology sector. We combine evergreen professional services businesses with SaaS products that we incubate, scale, and bring to market through a unified platform. Our portfolio operates at the intersection of AI-native operating models and vertical SaaS, serving organizations whose work drives real social impact.

The association and nonprofit sector is in the middle of an AI-driven transformation. The organizations that get this right will deliver dramatically more value to their members and missions. The ones that do not will be out-competed by those that do. Blue Cypress sits inside that transition as both an advisor and a builder.

About the Role

We're hiring an Events Manager to own the planning, execution, and logistics for Blue Cypress's full events portfolio. This includes our owned conferences (digitalNow and Innovation Hub), our presence at major industry events like ASAE Annual and the CESSE Annual Conference, and our internal leadership summit.

This role reports to the VP of Demand Generation. Events are a core demand generation channel for Blue Cypress, and this person will be measured alongside every other channel on pipeline creation and brand impact. You're not just running events. You're building experiences that drive enterprise pipeline, reinforce Blue Cypress's position as the AI transformation partner for associations, and create the conditions for our enterprise sales team to build high-value relationships.

The right person is both a meticulous operator and a creative thinker. You can manage the logistics of a 500-person conference and simultaneously think about how our booth at ASAE tells a cohesive brand story across a portfolio of AI products and services.

What You Own
Owned Conferences
  • Full execution and logistics for digitalNow, our flagship annual conference held each fall (currently 400-500 attendees, with a mandate to scale to 2,000+ over the next several years)
  • Full execution and logistics for Innovation Hub, our annual spring event (100-150 attendees) focused on emerging AI applications in the association space
  • Venue and hotel sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management for both events
  • Speaker selection coordination, logistics, and travel for external presenters
  • Food and beverage planning, AV production, signage, and on-site operations
  • Sponsorship sales for both conferences, including prospecting, pricing, fulfillment, and sponsor experience
  • Registration management, attendee communications, and post-event follow-up
  • Budget ownership for both events in partnership with the VP of Demand Generation
Industry Events and Sponsorships
  • End-to-end management of Blue Cypress's presence at ASAE Annual, including a large-scale exhibit space (20x40 island booth)
  • Experiential marketing and booth design: creating a compelling, cohesive brand experience that tells the Blue Cypress platform story across all products and services and drives meaningful traffic and engagement
  • Staff coordination for industry events: registrations, travel logistics, briefing materials, booth scheduling, and on-site management
  • Shipping, setup, and teardown logistics for all exhibit materials
  • Management of Blue Cypress's presence at the CESSE Annual Conference, including our networking lounge sponsorship
  • Execution of any additional strategic industry sponsorships as they arise
Alliance and Partnership Activation
  • Day-to-day management of Blue Cypress's current annual partnerships, including our ASAE Alliance Partner membership and CESSE annual partnership
  • Evaluating and recommending new strategic partnerships over time: identifying which industry organizations and events are most aligned with Blue Cypress's market position and pipeline goals, and making the case for where we should expand
  • Maximizing partnership benefits: tracking available opportunities, flagging deadlines, and ensuring Blue Cypress takes full advantage of what we're paying for
  • Surfacing industry calls for speakers and ensuring Blue Cypress subject matter experts are submitting abstracts and proposals
  • Identifying and circulating relevant industry events for individual attendance across the portfolio, even when Blue Cypress is not exhibiting
  • Logistics and execution for Blue Cypress's annual leadership summit held each October
  • Venue and hotel sourcing, dinner and activity venue selection, and coordination of offsite events
  • Travel logistics coordination and attendee communications
  • Outside speaker coordination and logistics
  • On-site execution support; the Blue Cypress senior leadership team owns content strategy and programming, and you own making it all run
What We're Looking For
  • 5-8+ years of event management experience, with a track record of owning conferences or large-scale corporate events end to end
  • Experience managing events at multiple scales: from intimate leadership gatherings to multi-hundred-person conferences
  • Strong project management instincts. You're the person who builds the timeline, tracks every dependency, and doesn't let things slip.
  • Experience with sponsorship sales or revenue-generating event programs
  • A good eye for experiential marketing and brand storytelling through physical spaces. You think about how a booth or a conference floor makes people feel, not just whether the signage is up.
  • Comfortable managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and holding partners accountable to deliverables and budgets
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent events at different stages of planning
  • Strong communicator who can coordinate across teams and keep stakeholders informed without creating unnecessary overhead
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, resource‑constrained environment where you're building processes, not inheriting them
Nice to Have
  • Experience in the association, nonprofit, or membership organization space
  • Experience scaling a conference from a few hundred attendees to over a thousand
  • Familiarity with association industry events (ASAE Annual, CESSE, etc.)
  • Experience with event technology platforms (registration, mobile apps, attendee engagement tools)
  • Background in B2B or professional services event marketing, where events are tied to pipeline and revenue outcomes rather than pure brand awareness
Why This Role

Blue Cypress is scaling rapidly, expanding our product portfolio, building a unified enterprise sales team, and growing our market presence across the association sector. Events are one of the highest-leverage ways we build relationships and create enterprise pipeline, and the role will grow with the company.

You're joining a company that is redefining how associations access AI. digitalNow is already a respected conference in this market, and you'll have the mandate and support to turn it into the premier event in the association technology space. You'll work across a portfolio of products and services, coordinate with an enterprise sales team that's actively building relationships with association CEOs and executive directors, and have real ownership over how Blue Cypress shows up in the market.
