Holmes Murphy is offering an Event Management Intern position for Summer 2027 in West Des Moines, IA. This 10-week, onsite internship provides hands-on exposure to the insurance industry, with opportunities to assist in event planning, budgets, vendor coordination, and on-site travel support.

Interns gain practical experience by designing collaterals, building mobile apps for events, and managing registrations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or pursuing enrollment at a 4-year institution.
• Majors pursued by past interns include Business Administration, Finance, Sales, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Health Promotion, Risk Management & Insurance, and more.
• Prior work experience is a plus, preferably in customer service or administrative roles.

Responsibilities

• Manage administrative duties including scheduling meetings and coordinating travel.
• Support budgets by tracking deadlines and processing vendor payments.
• Assist on-site travel services for domestic and international events.
• Source venues and manage event orders (banquets, F&B, AV).
• Create event collateral, itineraries, and handouts.
