Job summary

Hornblower Corp is seeking a Cook to prepare food for our events, including cutting, chopping, peeling, and plating. You will also assist with processing deliveries and will always maintain safe and sanitary workstations.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of kitchen experience, a high school diploma preferred, and must be able to work nights, weekends and major holidays. The role may require lifting heavy items and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of kitchen experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to work extended periods without sitting.
  • Work may be strenuous and the environment warm.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items.
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills.
  • Must maintain organization and meet deadlines.
  • Multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Communicate clearly with coworkers and guests.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all food items using prep lists and standard recipes.
  • Follow proper food handling procedures.
  • Maintain rotation to ensure quality and freshness.
  • Manage leftovers with proper labeling and storage.
  • Keep refrigerators and work areas clean and orderly.
  • Ensure stations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at shift end.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment per standards.
  • Follow safety policies and incident reporting procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
