Job summary

EAB (Education Advisory Board) in Washington, D.C. seeks an Entry Level Event Host to lead the planning and execution of onsite partner events, ensuring a polished guest experience from arrival to departure. You will support meetings in both Richmond, VA and Washington, D.C. offices, with occasional travel and a flexible schedule for early starts or evening events.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Own end‑to‑end execution of partner events hosted in EAB’s Washington, D.C. office.
  • Oversee onsite logistics including catering, AV coordination, signage, transportation, and space setup.
  • Create stellar first impressions and moments of wow for event attendees.
  • Ensure superior service for internal and external constituencies.
  • Coordinate with Facilities and vendors to maintain a polished, professional, guest‑ready environment.
  • Prepare meeting rooms and event spaces per specifications – including nametags, table tents, materials, and amenities.
  • Manage ground transportation logistics and track arrivals/departures for guests and speakers.
  • Prepare and distribute final travel itineraries and event documents.
  • Work a flexible schedule for early starts or evening events.
  • Maintain a professional, calm, and service‑oriented demeanor at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Role Overview:

The Event Host leads the planning and execution of EAB’s onsite partner events, owning every detail from room setup to guest experience. This role ensures a polished, welcoming environment where everything runs smoothly and partners feel genuinely cared for from arrival to departure.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Own end‑to‑end execution of partner events hosted in EAB’s Washington, D.C. office.
  • Oversee onsite logistics including catering, AV coordination, signage, transportation, and space setup.
  • Create stellar first impressions and moments of wow for event attendees.
  • Ensure superior service for internal and external constituencies.
  • Coordinate with Facilities and vendors to maintain a polished, professional, guest‑ready environment.
  • Prepare meeting rooms and event spaces per specifications – including nametags, table tents, materials, and amenities.
  • Manage ground transportation logistics and track arrivals/departures for guests and speakers.

Basic Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree with an excellent academic record.

  • Demonstrated success in delivering service internally and externally.
  • Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods during events.
  • Willingness to transport items, bend, reach, and climb small ladders during setup.
  • Ability to support meetings in both Richmond, VA and Washington, D.C. offices, with flexibility to travel as required by event locations.
  • Some job activities may occur outside typical workdays/hours.
  • Experience working in a team environment and in an office setting.

Compensation

Anticipated starting salary: $40,000 per year.
