Job description

Store - PITT-SOUTH HILLS, PA

Overview

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they’re looking for. Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises.

Event Coordination
  1. Plan and coordinate multiple events, including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
  2. Create a fun and creative environment for clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+.
  3. Demonstrate and instruct craft projects, perform face painting, and other activities.
  4. Implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons according to company standards.
  5. Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
  6. Manage administrative tasks like emails, phone calls, and paperwork.
  7. Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs.
  8. Develop backup or emergency plans as necessary.
  9. Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
  10. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards, including setup and cleanup.
Customer Experience
  1. Assist customers with shopping, locating products, and providing solutions.
  2. Provide a quick and friendly checkout experience.
  3. Promote Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards, assisting with enrollments.
  4. Educate customers about Voice of Customer (VOC) surveys.
  5. Support Omni channel processes like BOPIS and SFS.
  6. Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram duties.
  7. Perform merchandise recovery, store in-stock, and AD set duties.
  8. Support shrink and safety initiatives.
  9. Follow SOPs and company policies to ensure compliance.
  10. Interact respectfully with others, promote organizational values, and serve as a role model.
  11. Cross-train in Custom Framing sales and production.
  12. Participate in store cleanliness activities.

Physical and Work Environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Mobility throughout the store.
  • Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Handling heavy boxes and using ladders or similar equipment.
  • Work may include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
  • Work in climate-controlled retail environment; some outdoor work and non-climate-controlled stock rooms.
