Overview
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they’re looking for. Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises.
Event Coordination
- Plan and coordinate multiple events, including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
- Create a fun and creative environment for clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+.
- Demonstrate and instruct craft projects, perform face painting, and other activities.
- Implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons according to company standards.
- Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
- Manage administrative tasks like emails, phone calls, and paperwork.
- Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs.
- Develop backup or emergency plans as necessary.
- Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards, including setup and cleanup.
Customer Experience
- Assist customers with shopping, locating products, and providing solutions.
- Provide a quick and friendly checkout experience.
- Promote Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards, assisting with enrollments.
- Educate customers about Voice of Customer (VOC) surveys.
- Support Omni channel processes like BOPIS and SFS.
- Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram duties.
- Perform merchandise recovery, store in-stock, and AD set duties.
- Support shrink and safety initiatives.
- Follow SOPs and company policies to ensure compliance.
- Interact respectfully with others, promote organizational values, and serve as a role model.
- Cross-train in Custom Framing sales and production.
- Participate in store cleanliness activities.

Physical and Work Environment
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Mobility throughout the store.
- Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
- Handling heavy boxes and using ladders or similar equipment.
- Work may include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
- Work in climate-controlled retail environment; some outdoor work and non-climate-controlled stock rooms.
