Job description

Event Attendant (PT - LACC)

Job Summary: The Part Time Event Attendant is responsible for the set-up and tear-down of chairs, tables and other related materials/furniture in exhibit halls, lobbies, public and banquet areas and meeting rooms in preparation for various events at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC).

Essential Duties:

  • Sets up chairs, tables, partitions, material/furniture in preparation of various events.
  • Breaks down and stacks chairs, tables, partitions and other related material/furniture.
  • Sets up risers in preparations of various events.
  • Follow directions and read room plans to set-up for an event.
  • Work efficiently and quickly to set-up and breakdown an area in preparation for an event.
  • Maintains proper care of uniforms, equipment and supplies.
  • Safely operates assigned Facility Services equipment upon successful completion of equipment training.
  • Types of equipment employees may be assigned to operate could include, but not limited to forklift, boom lift, and electric cart.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):

  • A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency Area of Study: General Studies
  • Years of related work experience: 0-1
  • Will train on site.
  • General work experience in a convention center, hotel or large public meeting facility a plus.
  • General work experience necessary.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • A required and variable work schedule such as late hours, early mornings, holidays, and weekends will be required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Additional Comments:

This is an onsite position that requires in-person collaboration with multiple departments. No remote work unless otherwise approved by department head.

Pay Rate: $19.50/hourly
