Atrium Health is seeking a Unit Secretary for the 7 Cancer Center West: BMT unit in Winston-Salem, NC. The role supports the nursing team with clerical duties, admissions, scheduling and patient communications.

Evening shifts from 3p to 11p, four 8-hour shifts per week with weekend rotation. Requires a high school diploma and preference for unit secretary training or clerical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; unit secretary course preferred.
• Clerical experience is preferred for this role.
• Strong computer, telephone, and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete clerical duties for scheduling, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Screen and route incoming calls and messages to the RN team.
• Maintain confidential, accurate, and timely patient information.
• Enter data and nursing communications forms accurately and promptly.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families and teammates.
• Stay organized and handle workload changes efficiently.
• Support the unit with assigned secretarial tasks as needed.
• Provide appropriate age/developmental care information as applicable.
