Job summary

Yale New Haven Health System seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our orthopedic urgent care team in Stamford, CT. You will evaluate patients, perform musculoskeletal assessments, order imaging, and provide in-office procedures within your scope, including injections and wound care.

Responsibilities include educating patients, coordinating care with surgeons and radiology, and documenting all encounters in the EMR.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree and licensure as NP or PA required.
• Clinical working experience in orthopedic/ musculoskeletal settings preferred.
• Ability to obtain and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Strong documentation and care coordination within hospital protocols.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients in a walk-in orthopedic urgent care setting.
• Perform musculoskeletal assessments, history, exams, and treatment planning.
• Order and review diagnostic imaging and labs as appropriate.
• Perform in-office orthopedic procedures within scope (injections, splinting, casting, wound care).
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, and post-visit care; document encounters in EMR.
