Job summary

UW Health Beaver Dam is seeking a Security Officer to patrol hospital grounds, assist visitors, and respond to emergencies. You will interact with Law enforcement, patients and staff, reporting incidents with detailed documentation in our security systems.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, with preference for degrees in criminal justice or related fields and prior healthcare security or law enforcement experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree, ideally in criminal justice or related field, preferred
• Prior experience in healthcare security, contract security, or law enforcement preferred
• Licenses & Certifications: valid Wisconsin driver’s license; ability to pass driving background check; basic IAHS certification within 12 months preferred

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital grounds to assist visitors and act as first responder to emergencies and disturbances
• Interact with law enforcement, patients, visitors and staff regarding security or safety issues
• Document daily activities and write incident reports using hospital computer systems
• Monitor and operate access control, security cameras, intercoms, radios, telephones and alarm systems
