Job summary

Crescent Manor in Southern Vermont is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal preparation, service and delivery for residents. The role emphasizes portion control, sanitation, and respectful, confidential care of residents, with duties including food storage and waste disposal.

The position requires basic English proficiency and physical ability to lift over 25 pounds, with opportunities for full-time employees to receive benefits and participate in earned wage programs.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Patience, friendliness, enthusiasm and positive attitude toward the elderly.
• Must have upper body strength to bend, lift, shift, move articles over 25 pounds.
• Must be able to squat, reach and stretch; tolerate extended standing/walking.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, service and delivery of meals and snacks.
• Use portion control procedures when preparing and serving meals.
• Help in cleaning duties of work areas, tables, appliances and floors.
• Assist in dish and utensil washing and organizing soiled items for cleaning.
• Distribute and check trays for completeness and diet preferences before distribution.
• Follow sanitary, safety and infection control policies and procedures.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and treat residents with dignity and respect.
• Comply with Residents’ Rights rules.
• Report resident complaints to the Food Service Director promptly.
• Dispose of food and waste per policy.
• Ensure proper storage of raw/leftover foods; obtain next meal supplies.
