Job summary

Western Governors University is seeking an Academic Coach to apply the approved coaching model, supporting student success in academics, career, and life. The role focuses on core areas like quantitative skills, writing, and college success strategies, with group and one-on-one interactions.

The position involves collaborating with instructional staff, designing workshops, and using technology to track progress while maintaining student records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, English, Educational Studies, or a related field.
• At least two years of related experience in teaching, tutoring, academic coaching, or similar work.
• Ability to work 20 hours per week during evenings and weekends, including weekday shifts after 5:00 PM local time.

Responsibilities

• Provides individual and group coaching using the approved coaching framework, including study skills and college success strategies.
• Collaborates with faculty and staff to develop coaching support and programming.
• Plans, designs, and conducts workshops for additional academic coaching.
• Documents and maintains records of coaching interactions and assists students with designated software.
