Job summary

Scholastic Inc. in Strongsville, OH is seeking a part-time Warehouse Worker to support book fairs during peak school-year periods.

Shifts run 6:30pm–10:30pm with a pay rate of $16.00 per hour plus a $1.50 shift premium for hours after 2pm; holidays, a 50% merchandise discount, and a 401(k) plan are offered.

Responsibilities include packing cases and displays, processing returns, monitoring inventory, operating scanners, and assisting with inventory resets while keeping the area safe and organized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate basic product scanner proficiency effectively with minimal errors.
• Strong teamwork and ability to get along with co-workers.
• Good verbal/written communication skills and basic math; ability to read safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Pack book fairs into cases, boxes, and displays according to process and quality standards.
• Demonstrate proficiency in packing all components and sub-components.
• Meet minimum production, accuracy, and quality standards.
• Ensure outbound cases, boxes, and displays are clean, safe, and in good condition.
• Process returns for book fairs following procedures and standards.
• Monitor inventory levels on applicable product lines to ensure proper packing.
• Learn scanner proficiency for item inquiries and replenishment requests.
• Assist in picking and packing customer reorders.
• Keep work area neat, clean, safe, and organized at all times.
• Perform seasonal inventory production-line resets in collaboration with others.
• Learn QA scanning functions and participate in Physical Inventory activities.
• Assist in Customer Appreciation Warehouse Sale Events.
• Handle merchandise carefully and report unsafe conditions or damaged equipment.
