American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist for an evening shift hospital assignment requiring ARRT certification and MRI experience in an acute care setting.

The candidate will perform MRI examinations, coordinate with radiologists, and ensure patient safety using Epic for charting. This role emphasizes trauma center protocols, strict infection control, and timely documentation within a vibrant hospital environment.

Qualifications

• ARRT MR or ARRT(R) required; ARMRIT accepted.
• BLS certification required (AHA) and not expiring prior to start.
• 1-2 years MRI department hospital experience preferred; 6-12 months acute care preferred.
• Level 2 Trauma Center experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience required.
• Active state license required if applicable; IV certification competency within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging in a hospital setting.
• Work in Level 2 Trauma Center environment.
• 5x8 evening shift schedule, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
• No weekend shifts.
• Use Epic for charting and documentation.
• Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and preparation for MRI exams.
• Perform MRI examinations per protocol with appropriate anatomical positioning.
• Select scanning techniques in coordination with radiologist.
• Administer IV contrast under supervision.
• Follow infection control and sterile techniques.
• Operate and troubleshoot MRI equipment (magnet, cryogens, gradient amplifiers).
• Understand MRI safety policy including Four Zone concepts and quench procedures.
• Complete time stamps and image storage; report quality control as required.
• Ensure appropriate coding, charging, and medical necessity documentation.
• Returning Intermountain staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for one year prior to travel eligibility.
