Job summary

HSHS Medical Group in Springfield, IL seeks a Central Sterile Technician for the evening shift (3:00pm – 11:30pm) at St. John's Hospital. This full-time role performs sterile processing, decontamination, and distribution of surgical instruments to various hospital areas and external service contracts.

Compensation aligns with experience and education. Required is a High School Diploma or GED; 1 year of sterile processing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of sterile processing experience preferred; knowledge of nursing procedures, aseptic technique, medical terminology, and infection control preferred.
• CRCST certification preferred; IL CRCST required within 18 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterile processing and decontamination functions.
• Ensure proper sterilization and distribution of sterile instruments to hospital areas and external contracts.
• Identify and remedy equipment failures and hazards posing risks to patients.
