Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician I for the Adult SPD, evenings shift (2:30 PM–11:00 PM). The role requires cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing surgical instruments under supervision.

Responsibilities include instrument inspection, log maintenance, and inventory checks, with CSPDT/CRCST certification pursued within 12 months of hire. Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED; no prior hospital experience is required, though preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: No experience required. Previous hospital experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certifications: CSPDT or CRCST required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and wraps instrument sets.
• Delivers surgical instruments on a timely basis.
• Inspects instruments for cleanliness and repair before sterilization.
• Operates autoclaves and related equipment.
• Maintains sterilization logs and inventory as needed.
