Job summary

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to oversee the evening shift at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification in Sterile Processing (CBSPD, HSPA, IAHCSMM, CRCST) required.
• CER/CFER/CHL certifications also beneficial.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
• 4 years experience with degree or 8 years without degree; cart picking experience preferred.
• Demonstrated competence in instrument set assembly and sterilization across multiple specialties.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily operational tasks for Sterile Processing Staff members on a given shift.
• Oversees decontamination, assembly & sterilization of surgical instruments and related functions.
• Provides quality assurance to sterile processing.
• Coordinates with Sterile Processing Educator to provide shift-based staff education and participation in programs.
• Communicates effectively to superiors, peers, and employees and provides needed information.
• Leads staff and drives commitment to program and project goals.
• Builds relationships and fosters teamwork.
• Supports a learning environment.
• Knows load-recall procedures in case of positive biological test.
• Responds promptly to all customer requests.
