Job summary

Labcorp in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our fast-paced laboratory team. The role supports clinical specimen accessioning, preparation and data entry to ensure accurate testing workflows.

You'll work a Monday–Friday schedule with evening hours and some weekend rotation, and you should be comfortable handling biological specimens, lifting up to 40 lbs, and maintaining high accuracy in a high-throughput environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year or more experience (lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment).
• 1 year of medical or production experience.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Strong data entry and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Able to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens
