Job summary

LabCorp in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Specimen Processor I for evening hours (Mon–Fri 7:00PM–11:30PM) with rotating weekends/holidays. The role involves preparing specimens, routing and labeling, data entry, and ensuring accurate processing in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of lab, accessioning, production, or warehouse experience.
• 1 year or more of medical or production experience preferred.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens and working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack and route specimens to staging areas.
• Identify and label specimens accurately.
• Pack and ship specimens to testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples.
• Data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Resolve and document problematic specimens.
