Job summary

R.M. Palmer Company is hiring a 2nd Shift Utility Worker to support production and packaging operations in our Wyomissing, PA facility.

The role involves moving materials, transporting products, and assisting with changeovers while maintaining GMP and safety standards. We value urgency, ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement, with opportunities to contribute to a fast-paced confectionery environment.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience required.
• Prior sit-down forklift experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and material handling skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and support multiple production lines.
• Basic inventory and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Team-oriented with a willingness to assist wherever needed.

Responsibilities

• Supply production lines with packaging materials, cartons, pallets, and other required materials.
• Transport finished products, work-in-process, and raw materials using forklifts or hand trucks.
• Read production schedules and work orders to support production changeovers.
• Change production code dates as required.
• Wrap, label, stage, and prepare finished pallets for storage or shipment.
• Remove completed pallets and replace with empty pallets.
• Set up and reposition portable conveyor sections during changesovers.
• Maintain organized staging areas and stack pallets.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
• Assist with housekeeping, sanitation, and GMP standards.
