WVU Medicine invites qualified respiratory therapists to join our team at GMH Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. You will provide evaluation and care for respiratory therapy patients and administer prescribed services.

The role requires state licensure as a respiratory therapist, BLS within 30 days, and certifications as applicable. You'll work Monday–Friday 6pm to 2am with 40 hours weekly, supporting a wide range of patients and participating in quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Licensed respiratory therapist in the applicable state.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE or related certifications where required.
• Strong patient care and teamwork skills.

Responsabilités

• Perform basic and advanced respiratory therapies for neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients as ordered.
• Assemble, check, and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment.
• Initiate, maintain, and discontinue mechanical ventilation as directed by physicians.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient care.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory therapies.
• Support departmental quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
• Perform diagnostic procedures for various age groups as ordered by physicians.
• Maintain clinical and professional competency according to standards.
