Job summary

UF Health in Saint Augustine, FL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and less than one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
• Ability to learn and apply hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
• Less than one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Maintains a clean, orderly environment and demonstrates service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.
