Job summary

Peterbilt Motors Company is seeking a qualified maintenance technician to perform a wide range of complex maintenance tasks. You will read electrical and hydraulic schematics, diagnose issues, and repair machinery and facility systems.

Requirements include a high school diploma with technical training, 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, and experience with PLCs, VFDs, and automation. The role focuses on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work from complicated diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform a variety of complex maintenance work to repair machinery, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain plant facility, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
• Maintain and operate tools as necessary to perform tasks.
• Diagnose problems using appropriate testing equipment before repairs.
• Design, fabricate, and weld necessary parts and equipment for plant machinery and facility; requires shop math.
• Troubleshoot equipment containing PLCs, variable frequency drives, and automation as required.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• WORK FROM COMPLICATED DIAGRAMS, DRAWINGS, AND SPECIFICATIONS
• PERFORM A VARIETY OF COMPLEX MAINTENANCE WORK TO REPAIR MACHINERY, INCLUDING ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL, AND HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS
• MAINTAIN PLANT FACILITY, INCLUDING HVAC, PLUMBING, AND ELECTRICAL
• MAINTAIN AND OPERATE TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO PERFORM TASKS

Education

GRADUATION FROM HIGH SCHOOL SUPPLEMENTED BY APPROPRIATE TECHNICAL SCHOOL TRAINING.

DEMONSTRATED UNDERSTANDING OF SHOP PRACTICES, INCLUDING GENERAL ELECTRICAL, ELECTRICAL SCHEMATICS, MECHANICAL SYSTEMS, HYDRAULICS, HVAC, SIMPLE FABRICATION, AND SHOP MATH.

Three-five Years Related Industrial Maintenance Experience Required.
