Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital – Madison is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in behavioral health. The role involves admissions, shifting assessments, and collaborating on multidisciplinary treatment plans within established policies.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong nursing skills, patient education abilities, and proficient documentation in the EHR, while adhering to safety and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program or equivalent for licensing.
• No experience required.
• RN license required in WI or a valid compact state; BLS HCP certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes admitting and shift assessments on assigned patients including behaviors.
• Notifies physician of changes in condition using sound clinical judgement.
• Participates in development/review of multidisciplinary treatment plans.
• Documents all nursing care in the Electronic Health Record.
• Implements and records physician orders accurately.
• Monitors safety of patients and environment on the unit.
• Supervises care by LPNs and techs as a clinical resource.
• Educates patients and families based on assessed needs and documents education.
