Job summary

Volunteers of America is seeking an entry-level Monitor to help ensure security and safety for program premises, clients, visitors, and staff. The role involves door monitoring, bag checks, and routine patrols to prevent theft and maintain a secure environment.

Must be able to pass fingerprint clearance; driving is preferred for transporting participants. The position emphasizes professionalism and caring service in a non-profit, community-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflicts.
• Completion of VOALA safety training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shelter entrance and authorize entry/exit to guard against theft.
• Screen bags and persons entering shelter; maintain safety and security.
• Patrol premises to prevent intrusion and ensure doors, windows, and gates are secure.
