The role requires a NY Security Guard license and Fire Guard certification, plus 2–3 years of security experience in relevant settings. Work 4pm-12am shifts, with nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid New York State Security Guard License required.
Valid F02 Fire Guard Certification required.
2–3 years of security experience, preferably in social services, residential, shelter settings.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, staff, visitors, and volunteers.
Conduct routine patrols of the building, grounds, and client units.
Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious or unusual activities.
Maintain accurate security documentation, including visitor, resident, and attendance logs.
Participate in fire drills and serve as a member of the facility fire brigade.
Conduct monthly fire safety inspections and fire extinguisher checks.
Assist with emergency response activities and building evacuations.
Enforce facility safety and security procedures in accordance with agency policies.
Respond to incidents and crises using approved non-physical intervention techniques.
Prepare verbal and written incident reports and document actions taken.
Identify and report concerns related to substance use, child welfare, criminal activity, or facility safety.
