Job summary

Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement Community on James Island, SC, seeks a Community Response Team Member to patrol and protect our campus from 1pm–11pm with rotating weekends. The role emphasizes visible security and resident safety across buildings and grounds.

You will respond to emergencies, file incident reports, and assist with after-hours deliveries, fire drills, and inspections. Join a team committed to safe, caring living for our residents.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• General experience in security is preferred.
• Valid SC driver’s license.
• Able to complete Advanced First Aid (first responder) training within 90 days of hire.
• Interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Patrol halls and grounds of the community during shift according to standard procedure.
• Provide high visibility and presence to reassure residents with caution and care.
• Complete incident reports as needed.
• Respond to emergency pager according to procedure.
• Direct EMS if needed during emergencies.
• Deliver prescriptions and other deliveries after hours if needed.
• Check residences if unusual situations warrant and require.
• Conduct fire drills according to procedure.
• Check fire extinguishers and assist in inspections.
