Job summary

Memorial High School in Madison, WI, is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to assist with preparing, packaging and serving meals after school hours. Under general supervision, you will support cash handling, dining room care, and compliance with safety standards while contributing to a positive lunchroom experience for students.

This 10-month schedule runs September through June with summers off; starting wage is $25.54 per hour, non-exempt, evenings Monday through Thursday.

Qualifications

• FSW II or above classification or equivalent experience
• Completion of online Food Safety and Sanitation Program before probation is completed
• Three months of cashiering, customer service, or related experience
• One year food service experience in a large scale operation or equivalent
• Experience cross-cultural work and commitment to cultural competence
• Positive attitude toward teamwork in a lunchroom
• Must report to work on time and as scheduled

Responsibilities

• Follow all USDA/DPI and MMSD rules and procedures
• Collect cash and report meals, including computer operation
• Distribute food in proper portions
• Clean tables, kitchen equipment, and dining area
• Prepare meals to ensure high quality and safety standards
• Maintain student account records
• Operate kitchen equipment including convection oven
• Enter meal counts and production records accurately
• Open/close POS and reconcile cash receipts
• Dress per Employee Handbook
• Respond to communications promptly
• Perform other related duties as assigned
