Job summary

Bucyrus Elementary School is seeking a Custodian to work Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to Midnight, with 8-hour shifts and 260 workdays annually. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and includes responsibilities around building maintenance, safety compliance, and responding to emergencies.

Salary ranges from $17.76 to $26.21 per hour, commensurate with experience, with position reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator. The closing date for applications is May 19, 2026.

Qualifications

• FBI / BCI background check required.
• Meet all mandated health requirements.
• Complies with drug-free workplace rules & board policies.
• Keeps current with technology & other workplace innovations.
• Custodial and/or building maintenance experience.
• Basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing & carpentry skills.
• Ability to interpret & apply blueprint & schematic diagram information.
• Knowledgeable about building codes, accessibility guidelines, safety regulations & environmental laws.
• Knowledge of micro-electronic & other HVAC control systems.
• Available to respond to building &/or service emergencies.
• Ability to work both inside & outside of buildings & able to do heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
