Job summary

Great Valley School District in Pennsylvania is seeking a dedicated Custodian, 2nd Shift, to maintain cleanliness, safety, and functionality of district buildings, grounds, and equipment. The role requires performing custodial duties efficiently, supporting facility operations, and responding to emergencies as needed.

Typical schedule is 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

Prior custodial, cleaning, maintenance, or facilities experience preferred

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, locker rooms, hallways, and other building areas.
Maintain floors and surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing, and refinishing as needed.
Empty trash and recycling and maintain overall building cleanliness.
Clean windows, glass, fixtures, furniture, doors, and other interior and exterior surfaces.
Maintain grounds and walkways, including snow and ice removal as directed.
Set up and tear down for school events and community use of facilities.
Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies.
Perform routine building security checks, secure doors, and activate security systems.
Complete minor maintenance tasks and inspect building systems to ensure safe operation.
Maintain and care for custodial equipment and supplies.
Monitor and report safety, maintenance, and building condition concerns; follow all safety regulations and procedures.
Support contracted service providers and respond appropriately to utility or building system emergencies.
Perform other related duties as assigned and willingness to work overtime as needed.
