Job summary

Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District is seeking a Second Shift Custodian at Cutler Elementary School in Hamilton, MA. Hours are 1:00 PM to 9:15 PM, with duties including cleaning, restocking supplies, and event setup/breakdown to support the Facilities Department and school staff.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3-5 years of custodial experience preferred, and a valid MA Class D driver’s license. Salary ranges from $23 to $26 per hour, with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial care of buildings and equipment.
• Knowledge of standard custodial machines (buffers, burnishers, scrubbing/stripping machines, vacuums).
• Understanding of housekeeping procedures and cleaning methods.
• Ability to operate maintenance procedures and equipment.
• Willingness to lift heavy objects (65 lbs min) and work on ladders/scaffolds.
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the school facilities.
• Perform cleaning of restrooms and replenishment of supplies.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wash floors and surfaces as directed.
• Set up and break down for events and activities.
• Respond to maintenance work requests and use the work order system.
• Assist with snow/ice removal and outdoor grounds maintenance.
• Ensure campus security and safety checks; report issues to Facilities.
