Job summary

Mason County Schools is seeking a Custodian III/2 at Hannan Jr/Sr High School. The role runs 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a 220-day calendar and a salary range of $25,870 to $42,000, depending on pay grade and experience under the state and county schedule.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of required testing. Benefits include health, life, dental, optical insurance and retirement through WV Teachers Retirement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and classified as Custodian III/2 or successful completion of all State required testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintains regular attendance.
• Cleans and preserves designated spaces, equipment, etc. in the building.
• Cleans classrooms, offices, libraries, restrooms, and common areas including chalkboards, dusting and trash removal.
• Scrubs, mops, disinfects and polishes floors in restrooms, cafeteria, hallways, and classrooms.
• Disposes of trash and waste materials.
• Assist in moving equipment and check/replace light bulbs.
• Secure the building at night and operate hand and small power tools.
• Prepare facilities for activities and clean up after events.
• Perform inspections for fire extinguishers and emergency lighting.
