Job summary

West Virginia Department of Education seeks Custodian I-IV to maintain clean, safe buildings and support the educational program. Duties include cleaning classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas; operating and maintaining cleaning equipment; and coordinating with the principal and head custodian.

Positions are 240 days per year with potential extended days per HCBOE. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, background check, and state-mated competency testing as

• High School diploma or equivalent, pursuant to WV Code §18A-2-5;

Responsibilities

• Effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff, and the general public.
• Pass the written and performance tests that are directly related to the position.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Cleans classrooms, offices, libraries, restrooms, and common areas including chalkboards, dusting, trash, vacuuming, and washing windows.
• Disinfects floors and fixtures, and maintains cleaning supplies inventory.
