Job summary

Houston R-I School District is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment across district facilities. The role supports daily school operations with routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and event setup to foster a positive learning environment for students and staff.

The position is Monday–Friday, 2:30pm–11:00pm, twelve-month employment with full-time benefits. A high school diploma is required; OSHA 10-hour certification is preferred, and a valid driver’s license is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• OSHA 10-hour General Industry certification preferred.
• Previous custodial experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways and common areas.
• Set up and tear down for events and activities.
• Report maintenance needs and safety concerns promptly.
• Follow cleaning chemical handling procedures and PPE usage.
• Complete daily work orders and maintain equipment.
• Travel between district facilities as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
