Job summary

The Custodian role at Hillsborough County Public Schools Ruskin Lennard High in Ruskin, FL, entails daily cleaning, minor maintenance, yard duties and assisting in keeping all district facilities safe and healthy for students and staff.

Qualifications

• One year of increasingly responsible experience in large scale housekeeping, custodial, or building and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and burnishes floors; vacuums carpets; cleans and stocks restrooms; cleans dusted surfaces; removes waste daily; maintains custodial closets.
• Performs minor non-cleaning maintenance tasks (changing light bulbs, toilet seats, minor repairs, setup for events).
• Maintains lawn and facility upkeep (mowing, edging, weed-eating, watering).
• Opens/closes and secures facility; manages lights; respond to emergencies.
• Works independently or with a custodial crew; supports team; may assume duties of Head Custodian when needed.
