Job summary

The Williamsville Central School District is seeking a Custodian for South High School under the NY HELPS program. The position runs 40 hours per week, typically Monday–Friday 2:30pm–11:00pm, for 12 months per school year, with a starting salary of $44,000.

Immediate starting date and duties include cleaning, routine maintenance, and light repairs. Applicants must meet the listed qualifications and possess a valid NYS driver’s license. Apply with the district’s Human Resources.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED (or HSE) and 1 year of experience in commercial cleaning or building maintenance including trades such as Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC & AC, Plumbing.
• Five (5) years of experience in commercial cleaning or building maintenance including one of the trades listed.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of A and B.

Responsibilities

• Is familiar with and contributes to the District's mission and values.
• Performs a variety of cleaning tasks including mopping, washing, dusting, vacuuming, and rubbish disposal.
• Performs semi-skilled maintenance and repair work (e.g., shelving, windows, plumbing, electrical).
• Supervises a small staff of cleaners and laborers as needed.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

5 years experience in commercial cleaning or building maintenance

Valid Class 5 NYS driver's license

Equivalent combination of training and experience
