Job summary

New Canaan Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Evening Shift Custodian at West Elementary School. The position runs from 2:30 to 10:30 pm, totaling 40 hours per week.

The Custodian reports to the Facilities Manager and helps maintain a clean, safe learning environment. Responsibilities include housekeeping per schedule, safe operation of cleaning equipment, punctual attendance, and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in facility cleaning and maintenance preferred.
• Ability to work independently and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties as scheduled by the Head Custodian.
• Maintain a safe facility and follow safety procedures.
• Complete assigned work on a timely basis with a high level of cleanliness.
• Maintain good attendance and report to work on time for the shift.
• Operate and care for cleaning equipment and supplies provided by the district.
• Accept overtime as scheduled and cooperate with coworkers.
• Display courteous behavior to students, faculty and parents.
