Job summary

ABM is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties at a K-12 campus. The role covers classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas, with shift 4:00pm–8:00pm, Monday–Friday.

No high school diploma required; on-the-job training provided. ABM supports veterans and offers comprehensive benefits. This evening/part-time position is ideal for someone starting in facilities maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Prior customer service experience preferred.
• One year of prior similar work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area such as classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices and stairways.
• Sweep, mop and remove debris in designated areas.
• Regularly check and empty trash receptacles.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or additions needed.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, co-workers and supervisors.
• Sort and recycle materials into proper receptacles.
• Dust desks, chairs, tables, fixtures, doors and walls.
• Polish wood and stainless steel surfaces.
• Wipe tabletops, chairs and equipment in food areas.
• Move furniture to access cleaning areas as required.
• Clean interior glass, windows and mirrors.
• Sweep, rake leaves, and perform seasonal tasks as needed.
• Maintain restroom cleanliness and hygiene.
• Comply with safety, security, compliance and quality standards.
