Job summary

CJ Schwan's is hiring for a sanitation position in a food manufacturing environment. The role includes operating cleaning equipment, sanitizing facilities, and documenting chemical use to ensure the plant passes micro indicator tests.

The starting pay is $19.50 per hour with a $1.50 shift differential for 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. shifts. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits, PTO, holidays, and 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred with 0–1 year of related experience in sanitation, food manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment.
• Basic understanding of facility cleaning procedures and compliance with safety standards (OSHA, local, state, and federal) and GMPs.
• Ability to follow regulatory, customer, and company sanitation policies and procedures.
• Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including hot/cold and wet/dry areas.
• Flexible availability to work full-time, overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate steam and high-pressure hoses while safely cleaning and sanitizing equipment, tools, and facility to ensure all soil and contaminates are removed per procedures.
• Operate COP tank cleaning equipment to clean disassembled equipment.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment as directed.
• Follow sanitation schedules to conduct and document routine cleaning of the facility and production line.
• Use and document chemical use to stated concentrations and for appropriate applications.
• Verify and document that correct chemicals and concentrations are used and that cleaning and sanitizing is complete to deliver equipment and infrastructure that is clean and passes micro indicator tests.
