Job summary

Macy’s Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to manage administrative tasks for safety programs and wellness initiatives. You will assist in launching new programs, coordinate CRG meetings, and address safety issues under the OHS Manager’s direction.

The role includes on-site floor presence to observe and coach safe practices and to support training and data entry. Full-time with a schedule Monday–Thursday evenings; involve warehouse environment responsibilities and regular safety inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 3–5 years safety warehousing/distribution preferred.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are required.
• Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and compliance in warehouse settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational support for the safety program.
• Serve as a First Aid Responder (certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED) for incidents.
• Coordinate Health Safety and Wellness CRG meetings and lead them when necessary.
• Conduct required safety training for colleagues as directed by the OHS Manager.
• Help develop safety training programs with the OHS Manager.
• Coordinate and track information related to ongoing safety programs.
• Observe safe work practices on the floor and recommend additional training.
• Manage supply stocking, including first aid kits, gloves, and related items.
• Enter training, inspections, and accident data into the EHS platform accurately.
• Support Macy’s safety initiatives and programs; assist with monthly inspections.
• Assist in facility reviews and Loss Reduction Index evaluations.
• Participate in accident investigations and follow up on recommendations.
