Job summary

UNC Health Nash is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for the Special Progressive Care Unit to provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting. This full-time position reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and requires evening hours with a 36-hour work week.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, patient education, and contributing to performance improvement activities to ensure high-quality, safe care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify learning needs and educate patient/family with materials.
• Evaluation of Care: participate in care plan evaluation and interdisciplinary discussion.
• Implementation: provide care for patients with complex problems and coordinate resources.
• Leadership: support goals, collaborate across departments, and promote safe care.
• Patient Assessment: synthesize data to determine care priorities and discharge needs.
• Planning: update care plan with patient/family and consider cultural factors.
• Research: review journals and bring ideas to the team.
