Job summary

DePelchin is seeking a Residential Care Specialist to provide direct care for children and youth in a residential setting. The role emphasizes safety, therapeutic interventions, and coordination of activities to promote growth toward independence.

The position requires a high school diploma, a Texas driver license, and current First Aid/CPR certification (or training provided after hire). Expect adherence to shift-based duties Mon-Fri, with a 3:00 pm–11:00 pm schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Texas Driver License required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• First Aid and CPR certification (May be obtained upon hire).
• Must participate in behavior management and physical restraint training once hired.

Responsibilities

• Implement the therapeutic program consistently and ensure safety.
• Assist in planning and implementing activities with children and youth.
• Provide hygiene and social skills education and supplies.
• Develop therapeutic relationships to promote growth and independence.
• Maintain shift communications and document progress notes.
• Complete all paperwork including incident reports and restraint forms.
