Job summary

Penn State University is seeking a full-time Residence Hall Utility Worker for the University Park campus. The role involves cleaning, moving, and organizing furniture and supplies in residence halls, as well as basic maintenance tasks and security duties. Schedule is 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

with Mondays and Tuesdays off. Prior training of 1–2 months is required; a background check is required for employment. The position is part of the bargaining unit.

Responsibilities

• Empty and clean waste containers
• Remove and dispose of trash and debris from buildings
• Move bags and carts of linens to linen lockers or receiving areas
• Receive, move, sort, store and deliver equipment, furnishings, linens and supplies
• Clean floors, stairs, carpets, and furniture
• Move and assemble/disassemble furniture as required
• Lock, unlock and secure buildings as directed
• Report maintenance problems to supervisor
• Substitute as requested for residence hall worker
