The Program in Music and Music Education is seeking an Evening Practice Room Attendant to begin May 15th, 2023 for Spring, Summer A, and Summer B.
Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Evening Practice Room Attendant will be responsible for:
-Locking and unlocking the practice rooms from 5:00pm-9:00pm (Monday- Thursday, some Fridays) -Collecting student IDs when a practice room is rented and return IDs when the use of the practice room concludes
-Referencing the Practice Room reservation document to confirm reservations
-Giving access to the Instrumental closet for ensembles rentals
-Bringing to supervisor’s attention any disputes between renters or issues of room misuse that may arise
-Taking responsibility for the key security by keeping them locked up when not being accessed
Minimum Qualifications:
-Must have been awarded federal work-study for the term in which a work-study position is being sought
-Must be a student matriculated in a TC degree program
-Full-time TC employees are not eligible for this position
-Must be able to abide by the Student Confidentiality Agreement
-Must be able to abide by the Student Privacy Requirements

Note: If hired for the Spring/Summer semester, you must be available to onboard on Monday, May 15th
Preferred Qualifications:
-Must be Federal Work Study eligible at Teachers College, Columbia University
-Must work evenings
-Dates May 15th - June 30th; July 5-28*
-Position renewal July 1st (Work Study students must reapply for FAFSA in June to work in July)*
-Must be able to be in the office 16 hours a week, (20 hours in May)
The person who seeks this job should also be:
-Self-directed and able to balance classes and work
-Willing to occasionally move instruments and equipment (upright bass, timpani, amplifiers, etc.)
-Friendly and helpful, with a positive attitude
-Responsible
