Job summary

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full Time Plumber/Mechanic to support the Facilities department. The role involves inspecting, installing, repairing and replacing pipes, fittings and plumbing to maintain heating, water, gas, and drainage systems, plus related electrical and solid-state components.

The position is a union full-time role with an evening shift (2pm–10pm), with training on a daylight shift before moving to evenings.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read blueprints and schematics.
• Healthcare facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to work evenings and complete daylight training shift.
• Active plumbing licensure/registration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, installations, repairs and replacements of pipes and fittings.
• Maintain heating, water, gas, and drainage systems in the facility.
• Coordinate with other trades and hospital personnel to work in occupied areas.
• Document work for regulatory purposes and preventive maintenance.
• Operate and test mechanical and electrical plumbing equipment.
