Job summary

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician for the Lancaster General Hospital inpatient units and WBH. The role involves blood collection through venipuncture and capillary puncture for adult and pediatric patients, with emphasis on accuracy, patient safety, and compassionate care.

The position requires a high school diploma; preferred certifications include Phlebotomy, Basic Life Support, and prior health care experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Phlebotomist preferred.
• Experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Customer care experience preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary puncture blood collection per policy.
• Collects specimens for pediatric and adult patients.
• Ensures accurate patient identification and proper labeling of samples.
• Adheres to infection control procedures and isolation protocols.
• Operates bedside testing devices and supports point-of-care testing.
