Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Phlebotomy Tech I for the Banner Desert Med Ctr in Mesa, AZ on an evening shift. The role covers specimen collection, processing, and data entry, with potential coverage at multiple sites including IOP and MDS locations.

Must meet phlebotomy certification requirements and be flexible for weekends and holidays. New grads start at $19/hour and experienced staff range $21.07–$23.36/hour depending on experience; travel among locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• High school diploma or equivalent as required by state regulations.
• Completion of a phlebotomy program or phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification as defined by state regulations.
• Possession of a valid state driver’s license
• May require DHS fingerprinting certification or ability to obtain fingerprint certification.

Responsibilities

• Collect and receive biological specimens into the department and enter data into the computer system.
• Prepare samples for analytical testing and distribute to the proper area.
• Assure specimen integrity and proper patient identification across locations.
• Support quality and cost-containment initiatives and participate in Six Sigma teams.
