Job summary

ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Aide to join the Laboratory team on the evenings, part-time schedule. You will collect samples from neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients, label specimens, and transport them to the lab for testing.

You will also prepare urine specimens, maintain inventory, assist in charting, answer calls, and help keep the laboratory clean and organized while supporting the clinical staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of formal phlebotomy program or previous experience with ability to demonstrate phlebotomy skills prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood samples from neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in the laboratory outpatient service area, laboratory area, nursing floors, or in the emergency room.
• Labels specimens and transports them to the laboratory for testing.
• Prepares urine specimens.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and notifies leadership when supplies are needed.
• Assists in charting and filing laboratory slips, answers the telephone, and assists in maintaining the laboratory in a clean and orderly condition.
