Job summary

Software Placement Group (SPG) is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract, on-site role in Vancouver, WA. The position requires handling blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to physician orders, with potential for permanent placement.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and substantial experience in phlebotomy, including venipuncture methods, specimen handling, and accurate record keeping. The role runs 1PM–9:30PM, Monday–Friday, with weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of experience.
• 5 - 7 + years experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data and decontamination activities.
• Update patient information and maintain accurate records.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Follow physicians' orders.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check test requisitions or labels against scripts for accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per guidelines.
