Job summary

Pima Medical Institute in Houston is seeking a Pharmac y Technician Instructor for an in-person, part-time role at the Houston campus. The position involves teaching evening classes (5:30 PM–10:00 PM) and providing morning lab support on Tuesdays and Thursdays to ensure proper student-to-instructor ratios.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited Pharmacy Technician program credential with 3 years of practical experience, or 4 years of related training. Texas licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program recognized by USDE or CHEA with three years of practical experience as a Pharmacy Technician OR four years of job-related training/experience for non-accredited graduates.
• Current, active license/registration/certification as required by local/state/federal laws to work as a Pharmacy Technician in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evening instruction and hands-on lab demonstrations.
• Provide morning lab support on Tuesdays and Thursdays to maintain student-to-instructor ratios.
• Monitor attendance and raise alerts when absences occur; maintain weekly logs.
• Grade assignments within policy timelines and schedule regular check-ins to advise students.
• Arrange guest speakers, field trips, and pharmacy site visits; assist with lab supply inventory and ordering.
• Support with lab safety, equipment, and coordination of externships as needed.
