Job summary

Prisma Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care. In acute care, technicians handle automation, inventory, and sterile compounding in non-hazardous settings; in retail, filling and selling prescriptions.

Role includes training of new personnel, participation in quality assurance, and compliance with regulatory guidelines. The team works within the Richland Hospital Pharmacy Department.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent; OR post high school degree.
• Pharmacy tech registration with the State Board of Pharmacy.
• Pharmacy tech certification required within 2 years (24 months) of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and prepare medication orders by filling provider orders, medication kits/trays, automated dispensing cabinets, and floor stock requisitions.
• Operate automation and inventory management technology; enter patient charges and credits.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas; handle STAT medications as required.
• Maintain a clean, compliant work area and provide excellent customer service.
